    BACKING UP / EXPORTING your Contacts

    For the sake of making a simple backup (From your SIM, phone and/or cloud based accounts) to an external or local storage location, this guide focuses on exporting to vCard format (.vcf) that you can later locate in the Downloads folder after it is exported. You can then email this to yourself as a backup and for safekeeping (and then later downloaded and imported into the "new" device).

    - Tap on "Export" (or "Export/Import").

    Depending on the device, there may be options to:
    -> "export to .vcf file",
    -> "export to SIM card",
    -> "export to Storage or vCard files" or
    ->"Share contacts" (by Bluetooth, default & third-party Email client, Google Drive, SMS, Social Media App like WhatsApp, Etc..)

    - If Device prompts you for your permission in accessing the device's storage, tap on "Allow"

    - The device will list the given name of the exported file and storage location.
    Make a note this to easily find it later.

    - Tap on "OK" or "Export" (exact text will vary..)

    - Allow it to complete
    (may take some time depending on device performance, Internet connectivity speed to cloud storage location and number of contacts)

    RESTORING (Importing) your Contacts

    Note that depending on how the device was set up, your apps, contacts and pics may have been reinstalled automatically after you logged in

    For the sake of simplicity, this guide focuses on manually importing contacts that are stored on your SIM card And/OR in a vCard format (.vcf) that you can copy to your device from a local storage location like a flash drive, SD Memory card or PC (connected by cable or Bluetooth) as well as from the device's Download(s) folder after it has been downloaded from a cloudbased account (email or cloud drive).

    - Navigate to the Import contacts screen on your device:
    Go to "Contacts" > "Manage contacts" or "Settings" > "Import/Import or Export contacts"

    Use the "Import" Button > Select Import source (File in Downloads folder, SIM card or Cloud storage account)

    - Tap on "Done" or "Import"

    - Allow it to complete (may take some time depending on device performance or Internet connectivity to cloud storage location)

    - Open the Contacts screen to verify that your contacts restoration completed successfully.
